210 seconds
a clueless individual attempting to tackle an interview task
What on earth should I do a 3.5 minute presentation on? That is one of the tasks I’ve been asked to perform on this assessment day. Three and a half minutes, 210 seconds, it’s such an awkward frame of time. Why not just say 3 minutes, 180 seconds. 180 is a much nicer number. Or if you want a longer presentation, grow a pair and just ask for 5 minutes. Actually don’t. I’m already struggling with the assignment as is.
Three and a half minutes of just me speaking… on what? Subject matter is free rein. I can choose anything I like. But that’s my whole issue. I don’t like this freedom. For what reason are they allowing such anarchy? Unruliness I tell you. Choice paralysis right here. I don’t know what to do or how to feel. It’s madness!
Am I being just a tiny bit dramatic? Maybe… Who’s to say… But I seriously need to figure out a direction to go in.
I don’t want to do film or TV because those are better discussed with visual aids. Do I do a historical event? Maybe find something interesting that happened on the interview date several years ago? Maybe… I could go down the personal route and talk about something that has happened in my life. But what? Also, just to note, I am presenting to not only the assessors, but also to other candidates: my competition, my rivals, those who stand between me and glory!
Girl, calm down, it’s not that deep. I think you need some rest. Let’s revisit this tomorrow.
