finding a rhythm
the beat is constant, yet ever evolving
A rhythm is a strong repetitive pattern of motion. It sets the pace and guides the flow of a piece of music. It is the base upon which everything else is built. If the world were to crumble around us, we would still default to our rhythms.
These rhythms change as we course through life. They initially start off with a school routine, maybe going to church on a Sunday. Then as you get older, other things get thrown into the mix, like sports clubs and workouts. Then comes employment and all the perks and pressures of adulthood.
This is all to say that while rhythms are repetitive, they aren’t static. We don’t particularly like when they are disrupted, but at the same time they do change. Life happens, situations change, we progress and move on. A lot of external factors influence this shift. However, what is often overlooked is the agency we have to change them for the sake of our betterment.
